About the role

This ambitious startup is looking for an individual to lead its finance team. This individual will manage a team mandated with building a reliable and accessible finance vertical that maximizes profitability, properly manages cash flows, comply with taxes and regulations, and improves visibility and reporting while ensuring the survival of the company through strategic budgeting, cash flow management, cost optimization, tax planning and accurate record booking and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience piloting new initiatives, a creative mindset to manoeuvre through regulatory challenges and a solid understanding of my client's user base and cultural nuances. You will be tasked with building the case to allocate resources for your proposed initiatives as well as work cross-functionally on piloting and developing your portfolio of products

This role will directly report to the CEO.

Main responsibilities of the role -

Profitability/ Balances treasury-related operations/ Yield on idle cash/ Markups on fund ins and outs/ Cost optimization/ Cash flow management/ Petty cash/ Treasury operations/ Cash balances between banks/ External/ Fundraising/ Tax compliance/ Corporate governance/ Internal audit (Including but not limited to: Client balances reconciliation)/ Board meetings/ M&A / strategic partnership / strategic alliances/ Financial Planning and Analysis/ Accounting/ Reporting/ Budgeting/ Budget actualisation
