About our client

A leading Tech and Digital Transformation company based in Oman.

We’re looking for a skilled Oracle Cloud (OCI) Database Engineer to join our client's team to manage, optimise, and secure Oracle database systems on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy and operate Oracle DB services in OCI (Autonomous, Cloud Service, Exadata, DB Systems).

  • Lead on‑premises to OCI migrations (Data Pump, RMAN, GoldenGate, Data Guard).

  • Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, backup/DR strategy, security (TDE, auditing, role management).

  • Automate tasks with Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, PL/SQL, Python, Bash.

  • Monitor systems (OCI Monitoring, AWR/ASH) and execute patches/maintenance.

  • Support developers (schema, indexing, modelling) and maintain documentation.

  • Collaborate across teams (apps, security, infrastructure) and mentor junior DBAs.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 4+ years’ experience as an Oracle DBA or Database Engineer, preferably with cloud‑hosted Oracle database services (Oracle cloud experience preferred).

  • Strong experience in Oracle database administration: installation, configuration, RMAN, Data Pump, Data Guard, GoldenGate, AWR/ASH, SQL/PL‑SQL tuning.

  • Familiarity with Autonomous Database and Exadata Cloud is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of backup & recovery, high availability, patching and database security controls.

  • Hands‑on experience with Terraform, OCI CLI, automation/scripting (Python, Bash).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.

  • Fluent in English.

Working Conditions & Benefits:

On-site role in a corporate environment (no travel required).

Sunday to Thursday work schedule, 8 AM to 5 PM.
