Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Tax Free Salary: 25,000 - 32,000 AED p/m (Up to 91k annually Euro + benefits)

Location: Dubai, relocation package is provided

As Senior Database Administrator(DBA) you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and evolution of consumer payments products. Your leadership will directly influence strategic direction, maintaining alignment with overarching business goals while pioneering advanced payment technologies and best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new product features that are robust, reliable, and scalable

• Lead and collaborate on data modelling, integration, and governance initiatives to ensure consistent, high-quality data across the organisation.

• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure high resilience and replication of data across multiple availability zones and regions to deliver highly available and performant platform.

• Be a subject matter expert in Database Administration and Oracle Databases, also have key knowledge of architectural decisions and best engineering practices for Database Engineering.

• Implement a standard framework to ensure SDLC includes deployment and rollback functions for all database changes.

• Collaborate with Operations: Ensure the product can be deployed, maintained, monitored, and managed per their requirements.

• Work with engineering to ensure database operations can support billions of transactions reliably and efficiently.

• Evaluate solutions: Lead technical evaluations with vendors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure proposed architectures are a fit for current and future needs.

• Promote smart reuse: Identify opportunities to integrate or repurpose existing technologies and propose cost-effective, scalable solutions for complex initiatives.

• Champion reliability: Proactively identify and automate resolution of recurring issues to improve operational stability.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of expertise in database technologies (e.g., NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Hazelcast)

• 3+ years of development experience Postgres

• 4+ years of proven experience providing production operations support for mission-critical platforms with 100% uptime requirements.

• Strong understanding of Data Structures, Database Engine Architecture including memory management and multithreading.
