​We are currently working with a leading financial services organisation that specializes in risk and regulatory domain across the UAE.

You will be a senior leader within the business and operate on behalf of the organisation by working closely with their external clients by driving and implement structure, process and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop supervisory guidelines for IT and cyber risk supervision.

  • Gather, organise and analyse industry sector and firm-specific data for the purpose of monitoring and assessing the IT and cyber risks of Authorised Firms.

  • Identify IT and cyber risk supervision priorities and develop thematic and firm-specific supervision plans.

  • Take the lead role in conducting IT and cyber risk thematic reviews.

  • Conduct professional discussions with management of firms to gather and corroborate information.

  • Identify and inform line management of emerging IT and cyber risk trends that may materially impact regulated entities; and recommend appropriate actions.

  • Perform desk-based reviews and onsite examinations and write clear and concise memorandums and reports.

  • Assist in the assessment of applicants for new financial services licenses, when required.

  • Update the Regulatory Information System and other management information tools and have a sound knowledge of the Business Intelligence tool to extract ad-hoc reports.

  • Contribute to policy and strategy discussions relevant to IT and cyber risk.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • 8 years + of experience in conducting IT and cyber risk reviews and/or developing IT and cyber risk supervision policy.

  • Experience in IT and cyber risk, operational risk management and hands-on experience in business technologies and operations, is beneficial.

  • Strong and proven knowledge and expertise in dealing with financial services regulation and international regulatory standards, particularly those relating to IT and cyber risks.

  • Working knowledge in any of the following areas would be highly valued: distributed ledger and other emerging technologies and financial crime supervision.

  • Robust understanding of the responsibilities/role of the regulator and appreciation of what it means to be a risk-based regulator.
